Candia capers: juice fast update - day 4

Well, I’ve made it to day 4 with flying colours, and there are some good signs so far.
Here are some thoughts and observations:

My tongue (see bottom of this post), whilst not yet considerably better, is certainly showing some changes.  The white coating has cleared up in some areas, whereas there are more intense white splotches [...]

Candida capers: juice fasting begins

From my recent research about candida, I suspect that I have been infected with it for much of my life, possibly since childhood, and that it may well be the single biggest underlying factor in my health complaints.

Regardless of how long I’ve had it, I certainly seem to have had quite a bit of it lately, and I suspect it’s been a significant problem for much of the past 18 months or more.

Having got my mood, focus and productivity under control, my feeling is that candida is the last big health issue I need to deal with, and so I’m setting about tackling it without any further delay.

Dogma also no substitute for evidence

Queensland law professor James Allen has written an opinion piece about health that’s, well, about as informed and insightful as you’d expect a health-related article by a Queensland law professor to be:
HOW many readers have gone to dinner parties and listened to otherwise intelligent people assert that alternative medicine can be just as effective as [...]

Thinking more about candida

Although I’ve spent several years trying to understand my own health and exploring various health issues, I’d somehow managed to remain oblivious to the issue of candida. Having recently become aware of it, I now realise just how widely recognised and commonly discussed it is in the world of natural health. My experiences of several bouts on The Lemon Detox (Master Cleanse).

The verdict: Avoid it if you have candida, don’t waste your money on Madal Bal, and if you’re feeling unwell enough to want to do this, think about what may be causing it.

My current daily supplement list

This blog documents my progress in treating myself (very successfully, so far) for chronic anxiety, depression and ADHD using over-the-counter amino acids, oils, vitamins and nutrients.
Here is the list of ingredients in my current daily supplements bag:
15 x Pure Form 21 capsules from JoMar Labs
7 x WAC forumla capsules from JoMar Labs
2 x Taurine capsules [...]

In other news

The partner commented that I’m in better spirits, and it’s a while since I’ve ignored (not heard :) something she’s said.
My weight seems to have been heading back in the right direction, without any  conscious effort to eat better.
I’ve found myself consistently more socially comfortable, talkative and even a little outgoing.  This is not necessarily [...]

Enjoying coffee again

For most of my adult life I’ve been a big coffee drinker. Here in Melbourne, with it’s European-inspired cafe culture, coffee is a big part of life. Much of what happens in your social and business life happens “over a coffee”, and cafes and restaurants are judged as much for the standard of [...]
